DIY SPA TREATMENT: Feet and face

DIY SPA TREATMENT: For feet and face

Give yourself some spa treatment tlc.

Who wants to spend money on something you can do yourself and really enjoy? Do it at home and save your pretty pennies!

AT HOME PEDICURE:

· Don’t forget to paint your piggies! Try something new like a hot pink such as Pool Party from China Glaze!

· Once they are dry soak your feet in warm water & drop in some lavender to get the full effect of pure bliss.

· Towel dry your feet by patting them, leave them somewhat damp and apply a foot cream. I recommend Avon’s Foot Works Lavender Overnight Treatment Cream. (3.4 OZ) $5

Immediately slip on some comfy cotton socks so the cream can really soak in.

AT HOME FACIAL:

· Start by removing any makeup. The best makeup remover for face and eyes has got to be Estee Lauder’s Take It Away Total Makeup Remover

It is Dermatologist-tested, Ophthalmologist-tested & suitable for contact lens wearers. The only downfall about this product is its price tag. For a full size (6.7 oz) bottle it is $22.00 but well worth the money. It will last forever because you only need a nickel size amount to take care of your entire face.

· Cleanse your face with your favorite cleanser. Make sure you don’t have a cleanser that foams too much because it could strip your natural oils from your face and could cause dryness and even breakouts, believe it or not.

· Exfoliate: massage your exfoliant in circular motions all over your face, being careful not to rub anywhere near your gentle eye area. Keep in mind not to rub too much, if your skin is red you’ve over done it!

· Pat your face dry and apply your night time eye cream and a rich moisturizer. For eye cream I recommend Mary Kay’s Indulge Soothing Eye Gel (.4 OZ )$15.00 and for a great moisturizer that actually evens your skin tone try Pond’s Clarant B3 (pssst I found a sample jar (1.75 oz) for $1 in the travel size section at Target!)

And if you have an extra sweet husband like mine or partner, have them rub the kinks out of your neck and shoulders

If you’re flying solo take a tennis ball, lay on the floor on your back. Place the tennis ball on your lower back, but not directly on the bone, and roll your body up and down. You will actually feel the tennis ball relieving all that tension!

DIY Recipes: Eyelash Conditioner

Having full and thick lashes is something many of us crave! Though we can’t change the lashes we have from the inside, we can use topical treatments to help your eyelashes grow healthier and longer. There are a number of different eyelash serums and growth conditioners you can purchase from the store or have prescribed from your dermatologist. They have their benefits and risks so be sure to do your research or talk with your dermatologist to see which product would suit you best. There are a number of different natural remedies to create your own homemade eyelash conditioners. Results will not come overnight but over a period of weeks and possibly months so be prepared for a slow process. Take a break from mascara and curling your lashes once in a while to give them a break from all the lash stress. Give these 3 natural eyelash conditioning recipes a try to achieve longer, thicker, and fuller lashes!

Castor Oil Eyelash Conditioner

- Castor or almond oil
- Vanilla extract
- Disposable mascara wands
- Small container

Pick up a small bottle of castor or almond oil from the grocery store and disposable mascara wands from the beauty supply store. If you have an old mascara that you aren’t using anymore, disinfect and clean the wand thoroughly to use instead. Just be sure to clean the wand after each use. Pour the castor or almond oil and vanilla extract into your small container (three parts oil to one part vanilla) and shake up the mixture. Dip your mascara wand into conditioner and apply it from root to tip to your top and bottom lashes, twice a day.Be sure to use conditioner on clean lashes.

Vitamin E Eyelash Conditioner

- Vitamin E oil or capsules
- Small container or plate
- Cotton Swabs

You can use vitamin E capsules or vials of oil to use as an eyelash conditioner. Squeeze or add a few drops of vitamin E oil into your clean container or plate, making sure not to touch the oil with your fingertips. Dab the cotton swab in the oil and sweep the swab across clean eyelashes from root to tip on both sides of lashes, twice a day (typically in the morning before makeup application and before you go to bed).

Coconut Oil Eyelash Conditioner

- Coconut Oil
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Vitamin E oil or capsules
- Small container
- Disposable mascara wand or cotton swabs

Pour equal parts of the three oils into a clean container. Dip your mascara wand or cotton swab into conditioner and apply it on the base of your lashes, twice a day. Be sure to use conditioner on clean eyelashes.

Top 10 Most Common Makeup Mistakes

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT MY CONTENT BUT I WANTED TO SHARE IT WITH YOU ; )

By Mimi Bullock - Mon, Nov 15, 2010 6:52 PM PST

Ever spot a serious makeup mistake and think, "I wonder if she knows?" Chances are she doesn't, and she'll walk in to her next corporate meeting or parent/teacher conference totally oblivious to her makeup faux pas. Don't let that blurred vision of beauty become you! Review the top ten ugliest and goofiest makeup mistakes women make and give yourself an honest grade. Then share your new found information and make the world a prettier place.

Concealer/Foundation Confusion

Cruise the Internet long enough and you will come across all sorts of advice on this subject; concealer and foundation application. Never before have so many women got such bad advice and it shows. The real key to good concealer and foundation coverage is to start with a moisturized face. Then dab yellow concealer sparingly on brown or red spots. Don't worry about blending it in; it's concealer. Then apply your foundation. Do not put concealer over mineral powder or cream to powder makeup—it won't blend! You'll end up with an obvious patch job. Ugh!

Wrong Foundation Shade

Okay "summer girl" let go of the dark foundation. Your tan is gone and there is no sense in pretending. Let go of your summer foundation shade and embrace a paler, prettier you. Something to remember when shopping for foundation shades—color match to your jawbone, not your hand. Your hand skin is always darker than your facial skin.

Excessive Concealer

I hate watching my favorite all chick talk shows and seeing the show host wearing obvious white circles under her eyes. Girlfriend! Lay off the excessive under eye concealer or at least invest in one that does a little better job matching your skin tone. White is alright but too much of it will give you the reverse raccoon look.

Heavy Handed Eyeliner

I (sadly) am old enough to remember burning the tip of kohl black eyeliner before applying it to the inner rim of my eyelid. In the eighties, we liked our hair big and our eyeliner dark. Fortunately, style-wise, those days are over. Don't ring your eyes excessively, instead focus on using attractive colors in a flattering way.

Over Frosted Eye Shadow

Some may disagree with me but too much frosted eye shadow looks well... cheap. A bit of shimmer under the brows, a touch on the lid, these are pretty effects. However covering your eyelid from top to bottom with unblended, globbed on eyeshadow is unattractive. Go easy on the frosting!

Dry Face

No matter how much makeup you apply, you can't hide a dry face. After your morning cleanse, moisturize your skin. This will make your makeup application smooth and silky looking. Without moisture, makeup looks cracked and unflattering.

Wacky Eyebrows

Your eyebrows matter! Over penciled or super thin eyebrows are a mistake. At the opposite end of the spectrum, you'll find the gal who has never used a tweezer in her life. I hope you fall in neither category. Visit a professional stylist who can give you a good base waxing. He or she will shape those brows and give you a great template to maintain.

Dark Lip Liner

For a brief time in the nineties dark lip liner over light lipstick may have been fashionable. If it was, the fad is now over. Please toss away the black lip liner and use a more flattering color.

Blending Your Makeup

Sometimes we get a flawless finish but forget to blend. This common mistake will leave you looking like you are wearing a mask. Buy a cosmetic sponge and blend, blend, blend!

Mascara Marks

Occasional mascara marks are expected, we all get in a hurry. However, chronic mascara prints may have your friends and coworkers snickering. The problem may result from trying to apply mascara without your glasses. If that's you, the solution is simple. Buy a tabletop magnification mirror. You won't need your glasses to get perfect mascara.

I almost lost my life....

Thank you everyone for your prayers. For those of you who are unaware of what happen...long story short....Saturday I became very ill, I went to the ER and discovered I had a tubal pregnancy. The birth control I had in (IUD) punctured my uterine wall and embedded in my abdomen. My fallopian tube ruptured, I almost lost my life. Never take a single moment for granted. I love you all! I'm home now and am doing fine!

After my surgery, my daughters gave me the most precious turtle and flowers. I love my family to pieces!

I was 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant.

This is the birthcontrol I had in. It's called an IUD (intrauterine device) I had the Mirena IUD.
